Keeping Them Safe Training for Trainers

  • Arpeggias. LLC 3002 North Cleveland Street Enid, OK 73703 United States (map)

The final session of this group of sessions subsidized by Alert Adults is on July 21, 2022.

Keeping Them Safe, our primary prevention program aimed at child sexual abuse has three forms that address different audiences. It is available as a two-hour training for professionals and those who work with families to help them see potential risks. The second format is for the general public and educated them about the potentially risky behaviors of adults and ways to intervene to interrupt possible grooming processes through either an interactive live theater presentation or an interactive multimedia program. The third version uses interactive theater to engage the audience in scenarios that arise in daily life and looks at ways we can intervene and interrupt potentially risky situations and prevent child sexual abuse.

This Training for Trainers will address these programs and provide attendees with the opportunity to discover a new approach to prevention that raises awareness about the behavior of potentially risky adults and ways to intervene in situations to prevent grooming from being successful. The training provides the research background for the material as well as all the program materials and ideas for ways to make the programs available to both the general public and the professional community.

Each attendee will receive a complete copy of the manual for presentation including a script for use in presenting the materials as well as guidelines and recommendations for the public programs and master copies of all the materials needed to present the program in other environments.

CEUs are available for most professionals attending the training. Contact swdkeepingthemsafe@gmail.com to register. There is no cost for this training as the funding entitiy has also paid for the materials.
